Our verification is tested across several measures:
- Good-faith assurance that everyone who applies is stating honestly and earnestly that their work is human authored and not A.I. generated. This includes a declaration during the application process.
- You will answer a series of questions about your work, including a short rewrite of a section of your submitted work.
- A submitted manuscript (usually about 10,000 words long) that we will analyze alongside your answers to the above questions. The emphasis is on the human judgement of our professional editors and not A.I. detectors which are often unreliable and prone to false positives and negatives.
- Preferably, we’d like to see evidence of your creative process, though we understand not everyone can provide this
- If your work is suspected of being A.I. generated, you will be invited to take part in additional assessments to disprove this, if you wish.
What you will receive if you pass:
- A badge showing your work is Human Verified.
- You will be added to our website in a database for human verified authors. If you provide us with your webpage or primary social media page, we will link it to the database so readers can find you easily.
